Mesha Sendyk | ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mesha Sendyk describes herself as an “Existential Abstractionist”. When asked to define the term she replied,
“Art for me is about experiencing a new perspective: Existential Abstractionism is about sensing oneself while viewing the work, as being part of that unlimited perspective and indeed as a co-creator of it. Liberation of the mind from associations of the past is a gradual process, aided mightily by images. Being within the mirror of the images, these works engage the position, attention and conscious level of the viewer. More attention, more detail; more light, more shifts in perceived detail; more positional shifts, more changed details. Eventually, the process of discovery opens the mind and the image transitions thoughts, past language and references, into stillness… and is seen as a whole. Abstraction becomes a state of being, peaceful, witnessing and past judgment.”
Hanging herself upside-down from the ramparts of Saint Paul de Vence, Mesha remarked, "For me, art, like life, is about the position we take: A vast perspective opens possibilities that puts small concerns into context. Crossing over our fear of a broader more inclusive view, is a conceptual evolution humanity is now faced with daily. And like the blood rushing to your head when inverted, the clarity it brings is counter intuitive, but real none the less."
“I believe that in the present work by Mesha Sendyk, we are offered an opportunity to access the realm of the eternal where space and time are informed by consciousness. These works seem to act as a portal into a deeper view of the world beyond action and reaction. I perceive them as devotional works referencing the primal essence of existence.”

“Sendyk's work deserves contemplation - she is an artist that has taken serious steps to provide an enjoyably artistic, beautifully rendered , and comprehensible interpretation of multi dimensions - indeed mysterious matter both grand and atomic that whirl around us , whirl within us and whirl beyond us, creating cosmic smoke that second by second defines us.”

Mesha Sendyk | ARTISTS STATEMENT
Language based thought dominates our view of the world, filters our understanding and often truncates our spatial and intuitive mental processes. The natural art of the mind is alluded to and open to an experiential understanding through a suspension of common thought. (M.S. 2009)
Mentally transitioning associations of past referencing, to arrive fresh at the vista experience, and rest within the vision of life being witnessed, existentially free of conditioning, is consciousness unbound. In encompassing and allowing the view to become Abstract and particulate, freedom and potential are liberated.
When time and space become platforms left far behind and the witness apprehends itself, peace and an ultimate connection of mind “is”. The fearless undoing of “reality”, is the effect, caused by a liberated mind that sees past the obvious into Wholism. This is the point of my work.
It is not a statement of fluff and fantasy. More commonly the transmuted “reality” of wider consciousness being embraced, is a recognized phenomenon by those who can peel back the filters of past conditioning and really see. To evolve human consciousness and visionary capacity, is to become mentally free. To communicate this without the use of telepathy, I make paintings. As far as finding a method of communication past language based thought, I find, it works!
